A 3 YEAR PRESCHOOL PROGRAM
Our Early Childhood Program spans a full three years. We provide a safe and nurturing environment that allows for the social and emotional growth of all of our students. We believe that establishing strong foundations in learning during this period of a child's life will ensure that each child is well equipped to successfully continue a lifelong love of learning. Beginning with the 2/3 year old program, proven curriculum materials are used to introduce concepts in reading, writing, math and music. As your child grows, the curriculum is expanded to include social studies, language arts, science, geography and history.

This class provides a warm, nurturing environment and is designed for children ages 2-3. Emphasis is on developing social skills and transitioning from home to school. Language development is supported through daily activities that include ABC's, counting, story time, games, and arts and crafts. 2 and 3 day program participants will receive individualized "Play & Learn" Play Dough mats, sent home weekly, to reinforce skills & concepts being introduced in the classroom. (Children must be 2 years of age by September 1st to enroll in this program.) Choose from a one day, two day, or three day option. Multiple times are available.

The 3-4 year old program involves a strong balance of academics and fun, incorporating arts and crafts into lessons on science, math, and learning letters and numbers. Our staff recognizes each child's unique rate of development, and therefore our curriculum focuses on different levels of ability, individual needs, and learning styles. Student activities are designated to promote each child's self esteem and a positive outlook toward learning, while striving to instill independence and responsibility. (Children must be 3 years of age by September 1st to enroll in this program.) Choose from a 2 day or a 3 day option.

Our prekindergarten program offers a developmentally appropriate, skill based program designed to meet the needs of children as they transition from preschool to kindergarten. Proven curriculum materials provide accelerated learning opportunities for our prekindergarten students. We provide a phonics based reading program, as well as a hands-on math and hand writing program, to ensure the academic foundation critical to your child's future school success. (Children must be 4 years of age by September 1st to enroll in this program.)

The Butterfield Park District now offers a variety of options to extend your child's preschool day. Children ages 3-5 can now participate in before and after school programs on a month by month basis that best fits your family's demanding schedule. After a busy morning in preschool, students will spend time relaxing with their friends enjoying unstructured play time, crafts, gym time and outdoor activities.
