GENERAL PROGRAM INFORMATION

• Programs are located at Glenbriar Tennis and Pickleball Courts unless otherwise noted.
• Participants must provide their own racket or paddle. 
• Makeup classes due to inclement weather are subject to court availability and instructor discretion. 
• Class cancellation information is available on Rainout Line. Call 630.998.7499 for updates. 
• Non-participants are asked to remain on the bleachers during programs. 

Pickleball Open Gym Games


Registration Opens Nov 15
Come and play one of the fastest growing sports in the US. Pickleball combines elements of tennis and badminton.
This is open game play vs other participants. Groups up to 4 can play for a one hour time slot inside our gym.

Tennis - Pre-Play/Ages 5-7  

The programs are directed for beginners or players who do not quite yet have the skills to play a match. Each Pre-Play program has an innovative detailed curriculum complete with progressive drills, games. The Pre-Play programs try to maintain a teacher/student ratio of 1:5 to ensure individual attention and quality.

Tennis - Red Ball (5-7)  

Red 1 Class is an introduction to the basic strokes of tennis and emphasizes having fun and continuing athletic development. Red 1 classes are for children ages 5-7. Classes are played on a 36 x 18 court, with a red foam or felt ball, and a 19-23 inch racquet.

Tennis - Orange Ball (8-10)  

Orange Classes are designed to teach students the strokes and strategies of tennis on a modified court. Classes are for children ages 8-10 and are played on a 60 x 21 court, with an orange ball and 23-25 inch racquet.

Green Class is a class designed to teach students the strokes and strategies of tennis. Green Classes are for those ages 9-12 and are played on a full size court with a green-dot ball.

Tennis - JV/Varsity (12-18)

Junior Varsity (JV) is composed of high level JV and varsity players who are looking to refine their games and prepare for tennis beyond high school. Varsity players are tournament-level players looking to develop their games as they prepare for tennis in high school and beyond. The class time is divided into drills, game play, and match play. Ages 12+.

Tennis - Teen Beginner (12-18)  

Teen Beginner is an introductory tennis class. This class equips players with the fundamentals of tennis, and is designed to prepare them for entry into high school teams.

COURT rules and regulations

1. Social distancing required: before and after play, players must maintain a minimum distance of 6 feet from all others.
2. The use of face masks is required for all doubles match play.
3. Players are requested to observe tennis court courtesies as well as rules of good conduct on and around tennis courts.
4. All spectators and players waiting for a court must remain outside of the fence until a court becomes available and social distancing procedures must always be practiced.
5. Playing on the courts without tennis shoes is forbidden. A tennis shoe is a heel-less rubber-soled shoe.
6. No bicycles, skateboards, roller-skates, rollerblades or pets are allowed on the courts.
7. Food and beverages are discouraged.
8. Two or more players are allowed up to one-half (1/2) hour (up to 2 hours for reservations) of court time for rallying or time enough for playing one set. All players must have a partner to use a court.
9. Whenever there are players waiting, all players must vacate courts after playing for one-half (1/2) hour (up to 2 hours for reservations) or one set. Winners shall have no prior rights to remain on the courts.
10. Players waiting to use a court must indicate in some clear way to those using the courts that they are waiting to use the court.
11. The Butterfield Park District shall have priority use for activities.
12. No individual, group, club, or organization shall occupy tennis courts for tournament play without written permission from the Butterfield Park District. Application must be made at least fourteen (14) days in advance of dates set for start of play.
13. Tennis court reservations shall not be permitted to individuals, groups, associations, clubs, or organizations desiring such use for “private gain”, which term is defined and herein to mean use of the principal purpose of making a profit not pledged to be devoted to public uses.
14. Private lessons of any kind are not allowed unless authorized by the Butterfield Park District.
15. Courts cannot be used for alternative activities including off-leash dogs.
16. Please be vigilant in preventing the spread of germs by practicing good hygiene. If you or any member of your family are ill or become ill, you should remain home.
